FAQ

Questions people ask before they trust us with money.

If your question isn't here, write to us — we answer everything ourselves.

Is WePayGuard available right now?

WePayGuard is in private beta on Android. Real-money transactions are not enabled — the app runs on a test payment provider until our production payment integration is connected, verified and signed off. The Android listing is not published yet; email support@wepayguard.com to be told when access opens.

What does Protected Payment actually protect against?

Non-delivery only. If the package never arrives, or the seller misses the delivery deadline without delivering, you can be refunded. It does not cover items that arrive wrong, damaged, incomplete or not as described.

Who holds my money during a protected payment?

WePayGuard holds it. The seller can see that the payment is confirmed but cannot access it until you accept delivery, the inspection window expires, or a dispute resolves.

What happens if I never respond after delivery?

The inspection window expires and the funds release automatically to the seller. You are notified before that point.

What if the seller can't ship in time?

The seller can request one deadline extension. You can approve it or ask for a refund. If the seller misses the deadline and your response window expires, you are refunded automatically.

How are disputes decided?

Both parties submit a structured response and evidence. Once both have responded, negotiation opens and either side can propose a settlement split. If no settlement is accepted by the negotiation deadline, a fixed automatic rule decides the outcome. Routine human review is not part of this version.

Is there a human I can appeal to?

Not as a routine step. An audited emergency decision path exists for exceptional situations, but appeals as a product feature are deferred to a later version.

What does it cost?

Protected Payment costs the buyer 2.5% + $0.49 with a $2.49 minimum. Direct Payment + Receipt costs the buyer 1.5% + $0.49 with no minimum. Sellers pay actual payment-processing costs on both. See the fees page.

Are fees refunded if I get a refund?

Generally no — service fees are non-refundable when an item refund is issued. They are refunded for confirmed technical errors, duplicate charges, a charge that did not result in funded escrow, or other approved platform-fault situations.

Is there an iPhone app or a web app?

WePayGuard is an Android app. We have nothing to announce about other platforms yet.

Which countries and currencies are supported?

The United States, in USD. We have nothing to announce about other markets yet.

Can I use WePayGuard for digital goods or services?
