Delete your account
Last updated 12 August 2026. WePayGuard is an Android app operated by Neogelis. This page explains how to delete your WePayGuard account, what happens immediately, and what we are required to keep afterward.
Two ways to delete your account
In the app. Open WePayGuard, go to Profile, then Account, then tap Delete account. If your account is eligible, deletion happens immediately - see "What deleting your account does immediately" below.
By email, if you cannot use the app. Write to privacy@wepayguard.com from the email address registered on your account. Include the email address or @handle on the account and, if you have one, a recent transaction ID, so we can verify you are the account holder - we may reply asking for additional verification before we act. We aim to complete email-requested deletions within 30 days of confirming your identity.
What deleting your account does immediately
In-app deletion is immediate - there is no grace period or waiting window. As soon as it completes:
- Your profile - display name, the association with your @handle, and any profile details you added - is replaced with an anonymized placeholder.
- Your registered email, phone number and other contact details are removed from your account.
- Push-notification device tokens and your in-app notification history are deleted.
- Dashboard preferences, such as hidden or recently-viewed transaction lists, are deleted.
- Your ability to sign in is permanently removed - the sign-in identity tied to your account (your Google account, email, or other provider) is retired and can never be used to open or reopen this account again.
What we keep, and why
Deleting your account does not delete the records other parties, and the law, rely on. We keep the following, as a matter of retention policy:
- Transaction, escrow and disbursement records, and records of funding attempts and payment events - retained for up to 10 years. This is the financial and legal record of money that moved through the platform: tax, accounting and anti-fraud obligations, and what a dispute or chargeback needs if it surfaces months or years later.
- Payout-account mappings (which connected payment account received your payouts) - retained for up to 10 years, for the same reason: if a payment is later disputed or charged back, we need to know who received the funds.
- Audit events - the append-only log of what happened and when, on your account and your transactions - retained indefinitely. This log is the backbone of dispute resolution and financial integrity, and by design is never edited or deleted once written.
- Identity-verification verdicts - retained for up to 5 years, for anti-fraud and compliance purposes.
- Evidence submitted to a dispute (photos, documents and similar files, from you or a counterparty) - retained for up to 2 years, in case a resolved dispute needs to be revisited.
- Your @handle, and the record linking your deleted account to your original sign-in identity - retained indefinitely, specifically so your handle can never be claimed by someone else and your sign-in identity can never be used to open a second account. This includes an internal account identifier tied to your sign-in provider, kept permanently in an append-only audit log; it cannot be removed without destroying the integrity of that financial audit trail.
If in-app deletion is refused
The app will refuse to delete your account, and tell you which of the following applies, if:
- You have a transaction that has not yet completed, been cancelled, or otherwise reached a final state - finish or cancel it first.
- Escrow funds are currently held for one of your transactions, or a payment is mid-checkout - wait for it to resolve, or cancel the transaction if it is still cancellable.
- A payout or refund from one of your transactions has not fully settled yet - wait for it to complete.
- Your account currently has a restriction or a hold related to a payment or identity check - contact privacy@wepayguard.com and we will resolve it, or explain why it exists, before deletion can proceed.
- You started setting up a seller payout account but never finished connecting it - contact support to close it out first.
Once every open item clears, you can request deletion again.
This cannot be undone
- There is no "undo" and no way to recover your account once deletion completes.
- Your @handle can never be claimed again, by you or anyone else.
- The sign-in identity you used can never reopen this account, and can never be used to sign up again. Your sign-in identity means the specific account you sign in with, such as one particular Google account, not you as a person. If you want to use WePayGuard after deleting, you can sign up with a different sign-in account. That gives you a brand-new WePayGuard account, with no transactions, history or trust record carried over from the deleted one.
Your Stripe payout account is not affected
